Prologic.
Advanced results without aggressive ingredients or modalities.
Rachel Robertson, founder of Prologic Skincare and mother of three has a long history in the beauty therapy industry. The Prologic story began in 2011, created and formulated by NZ’s Top Beauty Therapist (NZ Therapist of the Year 2011/2012). Rachel knew there were great ingredients but found it difficult to find skin care ranges that contained them, or those that did, seemed to have these wonderful ingredients suspended in many questionable ones. Rachel also found that most of the ranges available were formulated in the Northern Hemisphere, and this meant that they weren’t well suited for the unique challenges Southern Hemisphere skins face. After 13 years in the Beauty Therapy Industry and studying Cosmetic Chemistry, Rachel’s dream of creating a professional, result-based skincare range became a reality. Whilst it was frustration of not being able to achieve results for her clients that initially sparked the desire to create Prologic, the vision for the brand has always remained the same “Treat client's skin successfully and see true results by creating healthy cells.” Rachel is a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to educating the industry and creating a product range that she is not only proud of, but one that has been carefully formulated to produce positive results and combat a range of skin conditions.
Prologic skincare doesn’t contain anything that will have a negative effect on the microbiome of the skin or the environment. It is a safe choice for us and the world around us.
Ethos
No Unnecessary Ingredients Most formulating labs have a base product ( a cream, gel, liquid etc) and they sprinkle “fairy dust” aka active ingredients in. Unfortunately, most of these base products are primarily made up of non-corneothereputic ingredients such as emulsifiers, waxes, preservatives, silicones & parabens. Prologic is formulated in the opposite way, Rachel selects which actives she wants to include and the product is built around the actives. The result is highly active and effective products which are full of everything the skin needs and nothing else! Made In NZ Prologic isn’t just NZ Owned, every component of the creation, packaging and even the amazing images and design work you see on the website and social media is done in NZ. 70% of Prologic Products are made at a lab in Christchurch, a lab in Blenheim makes the serums and another lab in Auckland makes the Omega 3 Treatment Oil. The bottles are made in Wellington & Auckland, the labels are printed in Auckland and the design work is completed in Napier. Rachel is passionate about supporting New Zealand businesses and families and it is a conscious choice to always seek out local options.
For Southern Hemisphere Skins with most major skin care ranges being formulated in and for Northern Hemisphere clients, it is no wonder we can struggle to see the results for clients who are living in the Southern Hemisphere and dealing with the unique challenges from extreme weather changes, a high UV index and an overall nutritional Essential Fatty Acid Deficiency. Struggling to achieve real results with pigmentation, barrier impairment and inflammation were further incentive for Rachel to develop a product range which would perfectly support skins in the Southern Hemisphere.
Not tested on animals None of the products or any of the individual ingredients in Prologic Products have been tested on animals. When a product states “not tested on animals” this means the final product hasn’t been tested on animals, however there isn’t any assurance that the ingredients used to make the product haven’t been. Where you see the No Animal Cruelty symbol, this shows that neither the final product or any of the ingredients have been tested on animals. Prologic can trace each and every ingredient to show that there hasn’t ever been any Animal testing. Prologic will also not be available to sell in China or any other countries that have compulsory animal testing for skincare products. Vegan Prologic products are completely vegan – there isn’t any animal or animal derivative ingredients used in any of the products. Sustainability Rachel has a huge passion for sustainability and this is reflected in every aspect of Prologic. Products are contained in glass, aluminum, recyclable plastic, compostable paper bags and bio sugar plastic (made from sugar cane). The wood pulp used to make all boxes and labels is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Accredited – which means harvesting is always fair trade and sustainable. In the same theme, harvesting is always offset by replanting. The inks used on all boxes and labels is plant based. Every ingredient used in Prologic Skincare is sustainable, environmentally friendly and ethically sourced. The products are made in cGMP Labs each ingredient is thoroughly documented and can be traced back to its origins. Sustainability is even a focus when sending out orders, boxes are recycled wherever possible and environmentally friendly options (such as recycled paper, cardboard offcuts, corn starch packing puffs) are used to protect products in transit.
